Welcome!

We outgrow all things, I guess. When I started blogging back in 2006 (really?! wow, time flies) “stash knit repeat” was a great name. It was cute, made a little bit of a joke, was a little hokey… …a lot like me.

Now, I’m designing all over the place, I’m teaching, I’m working on some projects for the fall that I cannot wait to tell you about. Somehow, “stash knit repeat” seems to fall short in capturing what I’m trying to do with my knitting these days. I expect that will only get more true as time goes on–as my projects get more varied, as my interests broaden.

So, I’m bidding stash, knit, repeat a fond farewell and moving here, under my own name, with a new look that I hope better communicates my passions and design sense. Please, take a few moments, click through to the actual blog if you’re reading from a feed reader, and see what you can find. I’m tremendously excited about it, and hope you are too.

The new looks are courtesy Carrie, who is not only talented but is also a perfect joy to work with. If you have web design needs, I would recommend her wholeheartedly.

It’s going to be an amazing fall, and I’m just so pleased to be sharing it with you from here. Welcome!

    1. Thanks for the compliment–but it’s actually set to full feed already. Mysterious! I’ll see what I can figure out.

  6. I love the new look!

  7. LOVE IT!! You should be very proud of yourself!

  8. It looks great here, and the RSS feed to my Google Reader made the switch without a hitch.

  15. Looking good!

  16. Amy, I followed from CA to MA, so why not from Stash, Knit, Repeat to Amy H Designs? Congrats on all your great accomplishments.

  17. Ahhh this is so clean and professional looking! Carrie does such great work. The new space suits you really well.

  18. Go Amy! And congrats on the Knitscene feature!

  19. Good for you…..change is exciting and so is something new. I look forward toward your * new-changes.

  20. Yay! Looks great. And that’s one less blog name/designer name mapping I’ll have to hold onto in my head 😉

  21. Congrats on the new digs! I am a bit sentimental so I will miss the name change, though it makes perfect sense professionally as a designer. Also kudos on being the featured designer in this fall’s Knitscene issue. Awesome!

  22. It’s like the moment when you’re a teenager and you walk into your own bedroom only to think it looks childish… BAM, you’re an adult. While I love the silliness of stash*knit*repeat, I can understand the grown up redesign… besides, just because we’ve put a mature spin on it doesn’t mean we can’t be silly too.

Good luck and I can’t see where all we go this fall.

  23. Hurray! looks fab! and for what it’s worth, my RSS feed works just fine with full posts and all. Woo!

  24. Amy, it’s been so much fun experiencing your transformation from Stash-Knit-Repeat into AMY HERZOG DESIGNS!! Carrie did a bang-up job here, the new look is super chic:)

  25. Nice new design!

  26. Updated my blogroll, love the new format! Great idea! I think it will indeed represent what you are doing better!

  27. The automatic redirect from stashknitrepeat doesn’t work for me (Windows 7, Firefox 5.0).

  28. I like a collection if there is a really strong theme, otherwise I like a weekly release. That way I can digest one pattern and the excitement can build for the next!

    Thanks,
    Betsy Pratt
