Fiber College Blog Tour!

I grew up in Maine. (Midcoast / Bath region, for thems who know where that is.) I love Maine. It’s one of my longest dreams to move back there. (Ask me how many math-type jobs there are in Maine.)

So when the opportunity came to submit a class proposal to the most excellent Fiber College, I couldn’t resist. And I was beside myself thrilled when my proposal was accepted. I mean, the company I’m keeping! (And there are so many more wonderful instructors I can’t link to them all–check out the class listings yourself.)

Fiber College is in beautiful, beautiful Searsport (right next to Belfast), which is absolutely one of my most favorite places. The event is held at a campground but there are lots of really reasonably-priced lodging options if you’re not a camper by nature. The season is winding to its close, everyone is more relaxed but the weather is still beautiful, there are classes on every kind of creative endeavor you can think of-… …it’s just the perfect event in the perfect place.

I”m excited to be teaching a longer version of my popular Fit to Flatter class that includes a custom sweater design for each participant. It’ll be so fun, I hope you can join us!

To throw a little fun into the mix, I’m giving away a free pass for the Saturday Evening Dinner at Fiber College. This includes a Show and Tell session and a cocktail reception before the sit down dinner with slide show lecture by Artist in Residence Mary Jane Mucklestone. (Not to be missed!) This pass may be given to a companion if the Fiber College Package you signed up for already includes the dinner. To win, just leave a comment here sometime before July 31st. I’ll randomly select a winner on the 5th of August.

So come on… you know you want to join us. 🙂

  1. Oh wow — I’ve taken both your and Gale Zucker’s classes — so helpful and fun!

  2. I am so excited to be attending my third Fiber College event. I made my reservations as soon as the classes were posted. I have taken some wonderful workshops and can’t wait to attend the ones I have chosen for this year. Mid coast Maine is one of my favorite spots; it is so beautiful and the campground is as close to the ocean as you can get. Is it September yet?

  3. Years ago, a friend would refer to the various fiber events she attended around the state. At the time, I was a new knitter and juggling a full life. Boy was I excited when I moved into the area a year and a half ago from southern Maine, to find Fiber College minutes away! It is so inspiring to be part of such a colorful and fun event!

  4. I’m looking forward to sitting next to you at that dinner!

  5. Have a blast, Amy!
Sometimes I wish our country was a little bit smaller.
    ; )

  6. I just signed up for my first class – and this will be my first time at Fiber College. I can’t wait!

  7. Woo hoo! I’m looking forward to seeing you in Maine, and to showing you a much better fitting sweater than I’ve knitted before. I’d love to take your class again (too many great classes, too little time), because I feel like I have so much more to learn. Love your new short haircut!

  8. I am looking forward to Fiber College this year. I can only attend on the weekend, but am excited just to be in the presence of so many talented knitters/crafters.

  9. Sounds like a lot of fun. This isn’t too far from where I live so I will definitely check it out.

  10. My husband’s a math teacher and we live in Ellsworth Maine–one math job in Maine! I’d love to win a prize, and hope our lovely weather continues for F. C. !

  11. Ooooh, I am so tempted to go to fiber college! I wasn’t able to take your course at WEBS, and I haven’t seen it anywhere else near me in NH, so FC would be perfect! Not to mention there are other courses at fiber college….gotta go check that calendar!

  12. Wishing I could go.
Knit East is happening for the first year ever in NB this year. I would love to take your class in the future!
