Cardipalooza!

Cardipalooza

We’re launching a year-long KAL, and Cardipalooza is our first segment! We’d like to explore the types and styles of sweaters that we knitters make and wear over the course of a year.

As spring begins (or as you look off in the distance to see it approaching), our enthusiasm for sweater knitting doesn’t wane. Even as the weather gets warmer, we can make those lightweight, transitional pieces that help move our wardrobes into the summer season.

So grab some sportweight yarn — maybe a silk blend? Start sketching and swatching and dreaming of the cardigan that would fit perfectly in your wardrobe.

We’re giving ourselves plenty of time on this KAL. It will run through May 31, so no need to rush right into a cast-on. Take your time to create a fabric you love and design the cardigan that you want to wear.

And then join us for a party! Cardipalooza!

We’ll be living #cardipalooza for the next two and a half months, so follow along on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest. More details to come on the AHD blog about our Cardipalooza plans, styling advice, and maybe even a prize or two 😉

  1. Oh, cardigans: how do I love thee? Let me count the ways! I only ever wear cardis, and the thought of a cardi palooza makes me slightly weak at the knees. I am very excited!! Aislinn or Dalriada? I am torn!!!

  2. I just started a lace cardi in fingering recently.

  3. 2.5 months should be enough time, but not for me! I’ll enjoy watching everyone’s progress!

  4. Am confused..year long KAL but lovely graphic shows 2.5. Months? Or is that the timeframe for the idea generation segment?

    1. Ahm mental note to self….when insomnia hits and you don’t really sleep then wake up and read blog….read digest nap then comment…first segment in year long KAL. 🙂

  5. I have only just found you and can’t wait to learn how to fit my knitting better, as I do with my sewing. I have your book and the Craftsy course and will be very interested in the KAL. I will be interested to see what others have planned, I am in the southern hemisphere I am busy planning for winter!

  6. Sounds like so much fun! Not sure yet if I can participate; the only social media I take part in is Ravelry so I wonder if the Cardipalooza KAL (I laugh with delight at this fun name) will take place there, too, it was not mentioned in the email digest I received.

    1. We’ve got a thread on Ravelry! Come check it out!

  7. How fun! Will be joining in with my swatch and cardi pattern idea created for VKL Customize Sweater Design class this past weekend. Perfect timing!

  8. I love cardis and I shall be knitting them along with you all!
