It’s been a busy spring — I can’t quite believe it’s April on Friday! And like most busy times, particularly with design deadlines looming, I’ve neglected the blog in favor of some fast-and-furious (but never quite fast-and-furious enough!) knitting:

There are lots of exciting sweaters happening in the Cardipalooza thread over in the Ravelry group too – a few amazing knitters have even finished their (first) cardis already! And I have one to share with you, myself:

It’s called Cypress Cove, and I’ve worked my own sample up in Knitting Boutique Mattawoman – a 100% BFL that was heavenly to work with.
I created this sample in honor of their lovely spring retreat, where I taught a couple of weeks ago. The retreat was an absolute blast – fun students, great yarn, yummy food, all in a super-beautiful setting. (Bonus: I drove over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge for the first time!)
While I was there, I sat down with my hosts to do a little podcast – which was also fun – have a listen here!
Full disclosure: I’d meant to release Cypress Cove last week, but a computer failure-and-replacement (UGH) prevented me from getting much done. Fingers crossed the photoshoot goes smoothly tomorrow – if so, there’ll be a new cardi for your weekend pleasure.
And on Monday, I hop on a plane to jet to lovely Monterey California, to prepare for the Make Wear Love: West retreat. Check out the hashtag #makewearloveretreat to see fun and hijinx galore, and stay tuned for the Make Wear Love Fall announcement in the weeks to come.
And that’s all for this quick dispatch – my needles are calling me! Until next time,
Happy knitting!
