Gifts for knitters (including you!)

I’ll share some of the FOs from the Fall KAL next week, but with holiday season officially on us (here in the US, at least), today I wanted to talk about gifts for knitters. This year’s Gift KAL has gotten off to a great start, and I’m loving seeing everyone’s plans.

Amy's gift knitting plans

(I’ve settled on patterns for Brenna and Morgan, and soft hats for the boys, but haven’t started knitting any of it yet. I’ll get there. Probably.)

But if you’d like to give the special knitter in your life something full of sweatery-goodness (even if that knitter is you!), I’ve got a few things to share with you:

CustomFit Gift Codes

Now, on your CustomFit account management page, you can buy CustomFit Gift Codes, each good for one sweater:

They never expire, and are available in 3 different bundle sizes: 3 codes for $36; 5 codes for $60, or 10 codes for $100. You can give them all to the same person, split them up among different people, and/or keep some for yourself!

After purchase, you’ll see some shiny new credit codes – jot them down (we’ll also send them by email). For pretty gift-giving, I’ve created a PDF with a space to enter your code:

(Click on this link, or the image above, to download the PDF.)

I’ve also created a special page for gift code recipients, to get them started. The PDF includes it, but if you’re not sending the PDF, you can direct them here:

Using CustomFit means “getting gauge” and “fit adjustments” are things of the past, which makes sweater knitting so enjoyable. And, now that you can choose your desired fit and silhouette, there are lots of design choices for everyone!

Signed Copies of my Books

…okay, here’s where I admit that sometimes it’s frustrating running a small business. The plan, this year, was to have a beautiful and shiny new storefront with a shopping cart and automatic, easy ordering for everything. It didn’t turn out that way (yet – I’m looking at you, 2018), but you can still order books and/or a project bag!

I’ve given a short description of each of the books below; find more detail about all of them by visiting the books section of this website.

Each book is available personalized to someone you specify for the cover price of $24.95 plus shipping. If you’re in the US, shipping is $6.50 and I’ll send the book via US Priority Mail; if you’re outside the US, I’ll send you a shipping quote once I calculate the cost. To order any of the books below, fill out the correct embedded form below; I’ll email an invoice and then ship the item.

Signed Copy of You Can Knit That.

My most recent book makes sweater knitting manageable – with useful information on the different kinds of sweaters, how to choose yarn and swatch for them, keeping sweater knitting simple… …plus 24 super-wearable patterns. Here’s the order form:

Signed Copy of Knit – Wear – Love.

My second book helps you go from yarn to wardrobe staple – with guidance on style, fit, and super-flexible 12-size, multi-gauge patterns with different customization options for 8 different sweater types. Here’s the order form:

Signed Copy of Knit to Flatter.

My first book helps you understand why you like the clothes you like – and offers straight-talk guidance on how to match your clothing preferences to sweater patterns. Learn your body shape and get tons of pattern choices sure to make you happy. Here’s the order form:

Zippered Project Bags

Finally, I’m super excited to share that I’ve created a limited-run set of zippered project bags!

These durable, heavy canvas project bags are made with care here in New England. They have a sturdy loop, zippered closure, and a full-width pocket on the inside to keep your pattern and other notions separate from your yarn.

The bags cost $25 plus $6.50 shipping (US). Here’s some specific information about the bag’s dimensions:

I’ve been using mine for a couple of months now, and I find it to be a great size for a single piece of a sweater (2 sleeves) or a large accessory. I had a few samples at my make. wear. love. fall retreat, and knitters loved them!

Here’s the form to order one:

Happy Holidays!

I hope that one of these ways to spread the sweater love appeals to you! Wherever and however you celebrate, may the rest of your year be filled with warmth, light, and loved ones.

Happy knitting!

  1. Dear Amy, what a wealth of great gift ideas! I am especially interested in the knitting bag but the link keeps saying “loading” even though I have refreshed. Do you have any other way I can click to buy? Thank you for everything you do.

    1. Never mind! It ultimately came up and I have proceeded to purchase!

  2. How do I specifically order two bags one with each logo?

    1. Oh, sorry it was unclear! Those are all pictures of the same bag – it has my logo on one side, and the “make it. wear it. love it.” text on the other side. I’ll update the post to make that clearer. Thanks!

      1. I have sent in an order for two and I still want two, each with two logos!!
