make. wear. love. fall sweater retreat 2018

Registration is now closed - but there's a wait list I'd encourage you to join! Please email me at [email protected] with your information.

september 13 - 16 2018

Knit.
Relax.
Learn.

World-class instruction, jaw-dropping

scenery, and 3 full days with people

who love yarn as much as you do.

Attend as a Student and spend more time in class, or as a Wayfarer and spend more time drinking in the ocean views.

Students:

- Spend each morning in class

- Take 3 out of the 4 available classes

- Rank classes when registering

- Price: $995

Wayfarers:

- Have free time each morning, followed by an informal 90-minute session

- Get a session from each of the wayfarer guides

- Price: $845

Everyone:

- Gathers together for meals and evening events

- Attends as many (or few) of the afternoon sessions as they like

- Has time to relax and explore Sebasco

Curious about the rooms? Lodging is not included in the retreat price, due to the wide variety of options at Sebasco. They've held a large group of rooms for us at a discounted rate - upon acceptance, you'll get a room information sheet with instructions for how to register. Rates for a single room vary from around $130 for a room in a cabin with a shared bathroom to $270 for a suite with jacuzzi tub and fireplace - and there are plenty of rooms to share, as well!

YOUR INSTRUCTORS

  • Julie Weisenberger, designer, author, and creator of cocoknits knitting tools, will teach students her signature method for working set-in sleeve sweaters - including working a hands-on baby sweater sample in class.
  • Kim McBrien Evans, mastermind of indigodragonfly, color expert, and designer of the unusual (and extremely wearable), will teach students principles and strategies for successfully incorporating asymmetry into their clothing.
  • Catherine Lowe, author of The Ravell'd Sleeve, designer, and creator of her eponymous brand of yarns, will teach students her couture knitting method for creating garments of uncommon refinement.
  • angle-right
Patty Lyons, nationally-recognized teacher, designer, and technique expert, will teach students how to spice up their sweaters with stitch patterns of  their own devising - from edging considerations to math to graphing to swatching.
  • Clara Parkes, New York Times Bestseller author of Knitlandia and world-renowned yarn expert, will help wayfarers improve their understanding of the yarn they're using and how to match it with designs.
  • Kate Atherley, author, designer, and Knitty.com’s Managing Technical Editor, will tackle wayfarer's questions on all of the fiddly little details that make our garments look professional (or not).
  • Amy Herzog, author, designer, and creator of the CustomFit custom sweater pattern generator, will help wayfarers understand the sweater - including how and why different garments succeed or fail, and how to love to knit and wear your creations.

You are wonderful. Your positive attitude sets the tone for the entire weekend. I truly appreciate your acceptance of everyone as they come.

Had a great time as always. My fourth time attending... ...I brought a friend for the first time and she loved it too.

"

This was so much fun Amy. The people were nice, the location was beautiful, the accommodations and food were surprisingly good - typically mass food production is just okay. Me, my sister and my mom loved every minute of it. Can't wait for next year.

we're full! but don't despair...
