Welcome to cozy town! The cowl-neck sweater is an utterly scrumptious silhouette, wrapping you up in the best knitting has to offer. And Eddy features a super-deep, super-rich cowl length, and sleeves and sweater body with luxuriously deep ribbing. Part of my “Basics” line of CustomFit patterns, Eddy is designed to look great in a wide variety of yarns, silhouettes, and bodies.
It’s shown here in an hourglass set-in sleeve silhouette, average length, and an hourglass average fit. But CustomFit will make your won Eddy in your choice of construction (set-in or modified drop shoulder), torso shaping, sleeve/sweater lengths and fits.
Eddy is available as a custom-gauge, custom-size pattern for the yarn and measurements of your choice via CustomFit. It’s shown here on Amy in an “hourglass relaxed fit” with an hourglass silhouette, but is available in a-line, tapered, and straight silhouettes as well. It’s also available in all of CustomFit’s fit options for men, women, and kids and the drop shoulder construction.
Your own customized version of the Eddy pattern will be written to your gauge, whatever it may be. This design works well at any gauge – from fingering to bulky.
I worked this sample up in Rowan’s Alpaca Chunky, a bulky-weight alpaca blend in a chainette construction. But Eddy will look great in nearly any yarn you like.
For other yarns, CustomFit will give you a yardage estimate before you finalize a custom pattern, but you can also use Hannah Fettig’s Stashbot app or pamphlet to estimate yarn requirements when purchasing yarn.
Eddy is worked in pieces from the bottom up and then seamed, with set-in sleeve or modified drop shoulder sleeves.
