Description

Dalriada is refined, elegant, and (best to get this out there) a bit fussy. But the results are worth it – it’s flattering, it’s engaging to knit, and has lots of details that elevate the finished cardigan.

The single button closure and empire waist panel draw attention to the narrow part of the torso under the bust, a very flattering choice for many shapes. To achieve the look shown, compare your own measurements against the schematic before you knit, to identify whether you might need to raise or lower the horizontal band. It should fall a couple of inches below your bust.

Bijou Basin Ranch Bijou Spun Sport is a soft, lofty, and completely luscious 100% yak yarn. I recommend it for its lighter-than-air feel and lovely softness and warmth. Should you desire to substitute yarn, please choose one that has little drape.

Construction:

Dalriada’s fundamental construction is a bottom-up set-in sleeve sweater that’s seamed for stability. However, trims are worked perpendicularly to the hems and in-line for the button band, with stitch-pick-ups and mitred corners. Please read the instructions carefully before beginning.
