Deep Current Cowl

Deep Current Cowl

Cowls are some of the most fun projects to knit – they're fast, they're worn snug up against your neck for ultimate snuggles, and they look much harder than they are. That's especially true for something with allover cables - even when they're super simple, like the ones in the Deep Current Cowl.

I strongly recommend the specified yarns to achieve the look given -
Shibui Staccato and Pebble are soft, intensely luxurious yarns, and when held together they make a subtly marled fabric in both texture and color. It’s exquisite and exactly the kind of thing you want to wrap around your neck.

If you’re substituting yarn, look for one roughly in the DK range - these two yarns, held together and worked in Stockinette, typically produce a gauge of about 20 sts and 28 rounds to 4’’ (10 cm). You’ll need approximately 530 yards total.

Sizing

One size, approximately 44'' (112 cm) around and 8'' (20.5 cm) tall, if knit to specified gauge.

Gauge

33 stitches and 40 rows = 4 inches in Allover Cable Pattern

Materials:

Shibui Staccato and Pebble, held together, 3 hanks of each yarn.

I used the color "Ash" in both yarns, and the cowl took most of 3 hanks of each.

Construction:

Deep Current is worked in one piece in the round, with allover cables and simple ribbed edges. It can be worn both in a single loop, or doubled around the neck.
