Harbor Village
Harbor Village
Harbor Village was part of the design collection for Amy's 2017 make. wear. love. fall sweater retreat, with yarn from our vendor Yarn Culture.
Even in the summertime, Maine can require a bit of wool at a moment’s notice. This lightweight cardigan is versatile and easy to wear. Roomy, gathered pockets are perfect for snuggling, and a vertical lace pattern keeps things light.

Materials:
Amy's sample is knit in the aptly-named ‘Delirium’ from Periwinkle Sheep (70% merino, 20% yak, 10% nylon), in the color “Vintage Blue”. If you're looking for a substitution, there are a number of merino, yak, nylon sock blends on the market.
You’ll need 4 (4, 4, 4, 5, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6, 6, 7) hanks of Delirium.
Construction:
The cardigan's construction is unusual; it's worked in three pieces from the bottom up. The sleeve stitches are added to the body in a series of COs, forming a gentle dolman under the arms. You'll join the fronts to the back with a 3-needle bind-off at the top, and pick up the sleeve cuffs to work down toward the wrist. After picking up the button band, you increase stitches for pockets and hold them for later. You work the pockets sideways, out toward the sides, then gather them in at the sides before binding off and seaming. The pockets’ top edges are allowed to roll in toward the pocket.
