Fall is in the air, and my wardrobe has turned once more in the knitwear direction. This year, I’m snuggling up in glorious cashmere. Even better, the pattern was written especially for my gauge and sizing choices thanks to CustomFit.
Simsbury is a simple cowl with a contrast color trim and allover waffle stitch pattern. Fully customizable in any gauge, it makes a quick and lovely project that uses up bits of leftover yarn you couldn’t bear to discard.
Since Simsbury is a custom pattern available via CustomFit, you can make it in any combination of four circumferences and four heights, or to your exact measurement specifications.
20 stitches and 30 rounds to 4” (10 cm) in Waffle Stitch;
I used the luscious Eco-cashmere by Blue Sky Fibers, in MC “Mineral Bath” and CC “Gold Rush”. Sample shown, using the average height and average width options, used 2 hanks of MC and a minimal amount of CC.
A note on yardage and colors: CustomFit will give you yardage estimates for the entire cowl; out of that total, you’ll need a very small amount of CC.
Simsbury is worked in one piece in the round. It can be worn both in a single loop, or doubled around the neck, depending on the size you choose.
