Spruce Point Cardigan

Description

The Spruce Point Cardigan is part of my Spring 2018 Remarkable Yarns Collection: a set of four sweater patterns and three accessories designed to work equally well with both Rosy Green Wool and Crave Yarns Caravan. It’s a classic V-neck cardigan with fresh-looking Broken Rib trim. Broken Rib looks similar to traditional ribbing, but doesn’t pull in as much – a great match for the relaxed, A-line shaping of this design.

You can buy Spruce Point in one of two ways:

• A traditional pattern PDF, for $8, written in an a-line shape, a single gauge, and for 12 standard sizes. A download will be immediately available.
• A custom Spruce Point pattern, for $12.50, written to your exact gauge (from fingering to bulky) and to measurements of your choice. You can also change the design’s silhouette, length, and sleeve length. A credit to customize this pattern will be immediately deposited into your account upon purchase. You’ll need to store the gauge and measurements you’d like the pattern written for before customizing.

Sizing

The traditional pattern you can purchase here for $8 comes in the following sizes: 30½ (32¼, 34½, 36¼, 38½, 40¼, 42½, 44¼, 48¼, 52¼, 56¼, 60¼)’’ / 77.5 (82, 87.5, 92, 98, 102, 108, 112.5, 122.5, 132.5, 143, 153) cm

The CustomFit Spruce Point Cardigan will be written specifically for your choice of measurements and fit.

Gauge

The traditional Spruce Point Cardigan pattern is written for a gauge of 24 sts and 32 rows = 4” (10 cm) in Stockinette stitch.

A custom Spruce Point Cardigan will be written for your own personal gauge.

Materials

Spruce Point Cardigan, like the rest of the Remarkable Yarns spring 2018 collection, is meant to work equally well with two yarns:

• Rosy Green Wool Cheeky Merino Joy [100% Virgin Wool, Organic Merino Extra Fine; machine washable] 350 yds / 320 m per 100g
• Crave Yarns Caravan [70%SW Fine Merino, 10% Cashmere, 10% Camel, 10% Mulberry Silk] 354 yards / 324 m per 100g

The gauge and yardage requirements are identical for either yarn. Cardigan is shown in Rosy Green Wool in color “Taupe”: 4 (4, 4, 4, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6, 7, 7, 8) hanks of either yarn.

Construction

The traditional Spruce Point Cardigan pattern is worked in pieces from the bottom up, with set-in sleeves, and then seamed. The CustomFit version is also worked in pieces from the bottom up, but with either set-in sleeves or drop-shoulder sleeves.
